I've been working on getting my new blog up and running - very excited. I'll finally be able to post my images BIG! I do feel a bit guilty, however, because this has been a great little blog - basically documenting my business from the start. Periodically, I'll browse back through the archives and I can't help but smile - each post triggering memories of the "whens & wheres". I've met so many wonderful people through this endeavor... I have a great job! And soon I'll be able to post my pictures BIG! Stay tuned for that as well as new holiday card designs!

This past weekend the kids competed in the first (hopefully annual) Tri for the Kids triathlon.  What a great event - so much fun!  Taylor was a volunteer/lifeguard for the swimming portion - I think he had as much fun as Ethan and Peyton.  By the end they were worn out - 100 yard swim, 5 mile bike ride, and a 1 mile run.  It took all my energy just to try to keep up with the both of them and snap a few pictures!  They were in different starting heats and therefore spread out on the course, but I did get quite a few shots.  Below are just a few - can't wait 'til they have the opportunity to race again!

Congratulations to the Rome High School swimmers who have qualified for the state competition!  They've worked hard all season and will be competing at the preliminaries this Friday in Atlanta.  Yes - I'm sort of bragging because one of the water boys is my little Taylor - below are a few shots... don't they look fierce?  (click on any pic to view it larger)

If you've had the chance to pick up this month's copy of V3 magazine, then you've probably seen some of the images from the Sunkissed Acres' story.  I love these types of shoots because I'm able to hear first hand how a few dedicated souls are helping the many.  After spending a couple of hours on the farm, I left knowing that even though these animals came from some very sad situations, they are now kept in the utmost care.  Below are some of the residents of Sunkissed Acres - (click on any pic to view it larger)

As many of you know, I was MIA for a time while taking a family vacation in New York city. Chris competed in the NY city triathlon and we headed up early to spend some time getting to know the city - it was great! We "hoofed it" all over Manhattan and even went to the Bronx Zoo. After a few days, we were subway pros - I think the kids really enjoyed riding them day and night. It definitely is the city that never sleeps!

Below is a picture of Chris on the third leg of the triathlon. He'd already finished the 2 mile swim in the Hudson (where he'd been stung by jellyfish), finished a 20 something mile ride on his bike, and is just beginning his 6 mile run down 72nd street and into Central Park where he'll finish up. The kids ran beside him shortly before we headed over to wait at the finish line. (click on any pic to view it larger)

Congratulations to the Rome Triathlon Club on their first annual Kiss The Dirt duathlon! Racers competed in the crisp, fresh morning air with beautiful Zion Farms as their backdrop. The kids had a great time as well ~ some competed in the children's race, and all ended up running and playing in the fields as the adults finished up. It was exciting, yet peaceful to document. Everyone seemed to have a great time! Below are just a few shots from the event, but check out the RTC website ~ in the next few days they will post a ton of pics taken throughout the event! Today we took a short trip out to KTR Farms where Miss Peyton had her very first riding lesson! We surprised her and set this up for her 8th birthday. She learned so much in just 1 hour! Keri did an outstanding job teaching her the basics about horse grooming and care. It's obvious that KTR Farms is a great place for a horse (or a dog, cat, pig, or donkey!) to live :) Here are a few pics from the lesson. (click on any pic to view it larger.)

Our second great vacation of the summer was to beautiful Montana. We stayed at Big Mountain Resort and had a fabulous time. My son has declared he is moving there when he goes to college! No "photo shoots" on this trip, but we got some memorable pics on our many hikes.
